I’m soo hapi i’v bin offered admission into absu…but nt d course of my choice. 1 of my friends opted 4 mass comm. but was offere IGBO.

It was very unfortunate for me that i was not showned my result when i ask for it, intead they said that the card is finish and that i can check it any longer that i should wait for next year jamb. It was a bad one for the school for a student who want to be admitted into the school that the list for the admitted student has close. It was a very divastating one from the administration.

Hello. I want to use this medium to ask for the admission requirements into the school of medicine of ABSU for a direct entry candidate(With a B.sc in human physiology).Thanks..08038308614

A new admission list(3rd) is out in Absu for those looking for admission quickly go and check on your status.
Note; you can only check in the school, not on the web site, cause you can not find yours there.

ABSU alumni drag VC before EFCC

The Abia State University Alumni Association has dragged the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa and the Registrar, Mr. Ernest Onuoha before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission for gross mismanagement and embezzlement of the university fund.

The petition to the Chairman of EFCC and ICPC made available to Saturday Sun is titled: “ Embezzlement of university funds amounting to over ten billion Naira, criminal and unlawful conversion of university properties and gross abuse of office by the Abia State University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mkpa Agu Mkpa and the Registrar Mr. O. E. Onuoha.”

The petition signed by the National Vice President, Barrister Ken Nwakanma and National Secretary, Peter Onyeokoro noted that the alumni association, is a great stakeholder in the university and shall not fold its hands or sit on the fence and watch the labour of the founding fathers of its alma mater and the efforts of Abia State Government towards making the university one of the best in the country destroyed.

The petition narrated how the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar have unlawfully and brazenly misappropriated over N10b belonging to the university. “ On assumption of office in 2005, Prof. Mkpa inherited from the previous administration of Prof. Ogwo over N2b in the university’s various bank accounts- First Bank, Zenith, Eco Bank, ABSU Microfinance Bank, Afribank and Oceanic Bank.”
The petition noted that apart from the N2b the embattled Vice Chancellor inherited from his predecessor, the university has generated over N8b from internal revenue and other sources, which were misappropriated.

“It is important to note that shares bought in the university’s name from blue chip companies with the university’s funds have been misappropriated by these two officers and their cronies. These shares and their proceeds run into several millions. For instance, at the ABSU Micro finance Bank, the university’s shares have been appropriated by these two officers as their private shares.” The petition stated.
It explained how the two officers withdrew about N100m between October and November last year in addition to admission racketeering that is taking place in the school.

The petition also highlights how contracts were awarded without due process stating that: “Most of these contracts are awarded to themselves or their proxies without registered companies. Contracts that are required to pass through internal tenders committee are unilaterally awarded by the Vice Chancellor.
