University Research Co., LLC (URC) is a global company dedicated to improving the quality of health care, social services, and health education worldwide. With our non-profit affiliate, the Center for Human Services (CHS), URC manages projects in over 40 countries, including the United States.

URC is seeking applications for a chief of party for an orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) program in Nigeria.

Job Title: Chief of Party, USAID Health Care Improvement (HCI) Project, Nigeria

Location: Abuja

Position Description

The program aim is to improve the well being of vulnerable children and caregivers through a sustainable, comprehensive and coordinated response.

Responsibilities:
- technical leadership and managerial oversight th the design and implementation of project strategy
- achievement and documentation of project results and ensure timely completion of all project deliverables for USAID and other stakeholders
- provide financial management and accountability of all project tasks in compliance with USAID regulations and URC policies
- ensure technical support for quality improvement activities is provided to the government of Nigeria nad partners
- serve as liaison to USAID, FMWASD partners and other stakeholders
- manage and supervise staff
- coordinate all technical assistant and develop work plans and processes for result reporting
- synthesize, document and disseminate the process of quality care
- represent the projects at meeting with funders, ministry officials, roundtables, working groups, conferences
Requirements:
- Past experience managing USAID funded projects at chief of party level or equivalent and in OVC and social services
- minimum of 5 years experience in a management level, capable of supporting complex, multi year, multi player projects
- technical expertise in health or social services in the form of professional degree or graduate level degree
- knowledge of Nigeria’s social and health service systems
- ability to systematically package and document processes, achievements and lessons learned
- excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills an ability to work independently
- ability to travel throughout Nigeria
- fluency in English and local languages will be a plus
