It is one of the world's largest port and terminal operators as well as providing cargo support and container Inland Services.
Apapa is one of two terminal facilities operated by APM Terminals in Nigeria, Africa’s largest country by population, and third-largest economy. Strategically located near Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city and business center, APM Terminals Apapa also serves the country’s other key industrial and consumer markets. As the largest and best equipped facility in the country, including a 55 hectare (136 acre) yard and 1,005 meters of quay, Apapa is also the biggest container terminal operation in West Africa, with an annual container throughput exceeding 600,000 TEUs, or nearly half of all of Nigeria’s containerized cargo movements. Significant investments have been made over the years in infrastructure and handling equipment, including modernizing terminals IT hardware and software systems. All these investments have led to significant improvements in efficiency and transparency.
