Jesuit Memorial College, Port Harcourt (JMC) which was launched in October 2013. The JMC is being established as a humble memorial and a strong commitment to excellent education in the Jesuit tradition in honour of the sixty Loyola Jesuit College students who died in the Sosoliso plane crash of December 2005. The school will welcome students of all faiths from across the country, and deserving boys and girls in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria now have the opportunity to receive Jesuit education at their door step.
Much more than a secondaryschool, JMC will be a family-like community where every new student, faculty, and staff will be welcomed and made to feel at home. Through rigorous scholarship and guided by the Spirit of St. Ignatius and the Jesuit philosophy of education, JMC will send forth graduates who are men and women of competence, conscience, and compassionate commitment. JMC students will be accepted based on their performance in a rigorous entrance examination and interview. Only those students who give evidence of being able to handle a demanding academic programme will be admitted.
