Kaduna Polytechnic was established as Technical Institute in 1956 and became a full- fledged Polytechnic in April, 1968 vide Decree No. 20 of the same year. The Institution was, taken over by the Federal Government vide Decree No. 40 of 1991 and currently operates under the Federal Polytechnics Act, as amended in 2004.

Job Title: Registrar
- The Registrar is a Principal Officer and he is responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration of the Polytechnic.
- He is the Secretary to the Governing Council and all its Committees including the Academic Board.
- He is responsible for keeping all records in the Institution and wills provide leadership in the Registry as well as perform such other duties as the Council may direct or as the Rector may from time to time require him to perform.
