Under the supervision of the Managing Director, the Business Development Officer is responsible for leading and improving the Organizations market position to achieve substantial financial growth. S/He will develop and implement long term organizational strategic goals, selected marketing initiatives, innovative business ideas and solutions that will position the organization competitively and profitably to enlarge her current clientele base, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals while maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the business development arm of the organization and ensure that all revenue targets of all products and services are duly met.
Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the organization
Strategically plan, develop and implement pipeline for new business to flow into the organization.
Have a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the organization can provide and the organizations competitors
Interface, develop and maintain rapport with new and existing clients and also market the products and services of the organization to the public.
Market all the products and services of the Organization to the public
Supervise and support the production of all marketing material designs and develop handle materials including program fliers, proposals etc.
Prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or any other means of generating interest from potential clients
Grow and retain existing accounts and client base by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
Lead in the development of marketing plans and strategies
Work individually or with teams to develop business proposals that is tailored to client’s needs.
Min Required Experience:
Education Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Competencies
First Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field
At least 5 years relevant experience
Excellent Research and Writing skills
Excellent Presentation Skill
Demonstrated accomplishment and skill in business development and client retention
Excellent interpersonal and communication skill
Strategic Sales skill
Networking, Persuasion, Prospecting, Public speaking and Closing Skills.
Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
Identification of clients’ needs and challenges
Ability to meet target goals
Territory and Market Management
Customer relations management
Excellent numeric and analytical skill
