Manager, Feed Mill
Feed Mill Manager is responsible for overseeing the production, quality, costs and safety of the Mill which produces feed for animals.
Key Responsibilities includes:
a. Efficiently coordinate production practices with operations crew and communicate effectively with logistics teams, operations management, and marketing and sales in order to consistently meet and often times exceed customer requirements.
b. Review production costs and product quality, and modify production and inventory control programs.
c. Develop and oversee plans for efficient use of materials, machines and human resources.
d. Monitors correct formulas and drug levels for daily production of feed by close relationship with Nutritional Services Unit.
e. Supervises and coordinates new chemicals being approved by furnishing labels, MSDS sheets, and product request form for chemical evaluation to the Chemical Evaluation Committee.
f. Reviews cost records and performance data to analyze the effectiveness of milling and delivery practices.
g. Schedule daily production and manage employee shifts and hours of operation in order to produce feed efficiently and cost effectively.
h. Maintain Safe Feed/Safe Feed procedures and certification and follow all current GMPs.
i. Maintain accurate inventory balances and monitor quality control to meet customer specifications.
j. Test and summarize quality control data and share with senior management.
k. Conduct monthly safety training classes with employees.
l. Provide leadership to the entire team at the location; support their growth and development.
m. Keeps accurate records on mill production and delivery.
n. Maintains good quality control program by accurate sampling procedures.
o. Maintains compliance with all government regulatory agencies.
p. Assist with budget planning, capital projects, and future enhancements to the facility.
q. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
r. Participate in company and Division safety program

Education and Experience
a. Must have a minimum of Bachelor’s degree/HND in animal science, poultry science, feed science and management or agriculture from a reputable institution. Possession of MBA will be an advantage.
b. Has experience in building new feed mill plants.
c. Ten (10) years of Feed Mill production and management experience, with at least seven (7) years as a Supervisor.
d. Minimum of five (5) years of Commercial Feed experience with a good knowledge of bag feed operations.
e. Familiar with /understanding of ISO certification.
