Job Description


  • Prospecting for/Recruitment of new clientele/account
  • Recruiting new accounts/clients
  • Provision of excellent customer service to current clientele/accounts to engender business growth.



  • Assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet.
  • Managing drivers so they adhere to agreed schedules.
  • Developing strategies for greater fuel efficiency.
  • Ensuring that the statutory documentation status of ALL operatives and vehicles under his/her supervision are up to date
  • Scheduling regular vehicle servicing and maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Ensuring that Truck operatives comply with all relevant Transport laws and regulations.
  • Monitoring driver behaviour and ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Utilizing GPS systems to monitor drivers and track vehicles in case of theft.
  • Establish designated service provider relationship – fueling, vehicle maintenance/repairs at value



  • Track and manage All expense related to his/her operations – wages, allowances, fuel, tyres, accessories and other consumables
  • Track vehicle deployment for billing purposes by way of waybill collection
  • Maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing, expenses and inspection.
  • Finding ways to minimize costs and maximize profits.

·         Plan and prepare monthly budget, expenditures and analyze all financial objectives

·         Management of monthly imprest



  • Present periodic reports as will be agreed relevant – daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Present incident reports as may be required.
  • Present weekly and monthly operations report
  • Analyzing data to increase business operational efficiency.
  • Present activity trend estimation on a weekly/monthly basis



  • Attend monthly review meetings as prescribed within 3 days of reviewed month end
  • Present periodic reports as will be agreed relevant – daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) for safety and health issues

·         Participate in various workshops and educational programs and maintain knowledge on all industry relevant publications.

  • Establishment of SOPs and development of procedural documentation

Other Requirements
  • Degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Some experience in a logistics role in the transportation industry.
  • Outstanding supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  • Quantitative ability.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Above-average IT application skills – MS Office, vehicle GPS app tracking
  • Ability to deliver identifiable results under pressure
  • Basic understanding of Heavy-duty truck operating systems
